Donald R. Fraser, a registered patent attorney licensed in the State of Ohio and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, practiced patent law for over 55 years, representing clients around the world in a variety of technical areas. Mr. Fraser was graduated with an undergraduate degree in Physics from the University of Toledo and a Juris Doctor degree from George Washington University.
Mr. Fraser served as Assistant Solicitor, Patents, for the United States Department of the Interior in 1975 and 1976, and as a Member of the Ohio General Assembly from 1968 to 1972. He also served for ten years as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Toledo College of Law, lecturing on intellectual property law.
Mr. Fraser was the firm’s founding and senior partner. More recently, he divided his time between the firm’s Ohio offices and his residence in Ft. Myers, Florida, where he limited his practice to matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Mr. Fraser was a well-known and highly respected patent attorney who set the gold standard for service to clients, to the legal profession, and to the broader community. He was our mentor, colleague and friend, and we were deeply saddened by his passing on December 28, 2010.
