William J. Clemens is an electrical engineer and patent attorney registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is a graduate of the University of Toledo College of Law (J.D. 1973). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (1965) and a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering (1969), also from the University of Toledo.
Mr. Clemens has practiced intellectual property law for more than 40 years. He has extensive experience with U.S. and foreign patent, trademark and copyright matters; intellectual property licensing; electronic data interchange; and technology-related contracts. He is familiar with a wide range of electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and chemical processing devices; computer software; and electronic control systems.
Mr. Clemens is admitted to practice law in Ohio and Michigan. He is a past President of the Toledo Patent Law Association. Mr. Clemens leads the firm’s Michigan practice, advising clients with respect to patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, technology transfer and related intellectual property matters.
